Steven Huber Bio

   Steve Huber is a Juilliard graduate and former violin student of Dorothy DeLay, Naoko Tanaka, and Sally Thomas. He enjoyed a successful career as a symphony violinist in such orchestras as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in Texas, Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo (OSESP) in Brazil, and, as the concertmaster, the Orquestra Filarmonica de Lima in Peru, where he was able to spend time with his Peruvian relatives and perform solos with artists such as Placido Domingo.

As a composer his works have been received with great acclaim. After writing his first orchestra piece “Genesis Overture” at age 17 which was performed by the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, he recieved the Boosey and Hawkes Young Composer Award honoring Aaron Copland by the ASCAP Foundation. His compositions have been performed by the Key West and Fort Worth Symphonies, and he is currently working on the score for a sitcom pilot. Recently he wrote music and lyrics for "Pot! The Musical", which was performed in Hollywood and Venice, CA.

Steve has performed and recorded as an improvising violinist and/or keyboardist with such artists as Keith Emerson, Susana Baca, Spyro Gyra, Marcus Belgrave, New York Voices, Tina Guo, Supernova, Absolute Ensemble, John Nitzinger, Hijos del Sol, Julio Andrade, Frágil, Nito Mestre of Sui Generis, Gian Marco, Santino, Munyungo Jackson, Jerry Brown, and Randy Jackson of Zebra.

He has recently relocated to Los Angeles to develop a career as a film composer, songwriter, arranger, session player, and "hired gun". His recent projects include The Pirates Charles, and performing as concertmaster of Culver City Chamber Orchestra, Center Stage Opera, Elvis Schoenberg's Orchestre Surreal,  and “The Wall: Live in L.A.”.
